Bradley eyes Pacman in 2012

LAS VEGAS — There’s going to be one guy on Saturday night who will try to steal the thunder from the main event fighters.

Tim BradleyTim Bradley, the current world super-lightweight champion, is making an appearance in the undercard of the Manny Pacquiao-Juan Manuel Marquez rubber match at the MGM Grand.

Bradley is yearning for recognition the way other high-profile fighters have and a smashing victory against Cuban Joel Casamayor is a major stepping stone in his quest for stardom.

Top Rank had actually signed up Bradley to a promotional contract only a few months ago and it was seen by ringsiders as a move to possibly pit him against Pacquiao in the future.

Although the main goal next year for Top Rank is to get a deal for a Pacquiao fight with Floyd Mayweather, Hall of Fame promoter Bob Arum is wise in signing up Bradley.

In the event a Mayweather bout can’t be done, Top Rank will have an option.

But for Bradley to be considered as a Pacquiao foe, he has to win big against Casamayor so it would be easier for Arum to sell it to fight fans.

Bradley, 28, is also doing his part in marketing himself, telling a group of reporters on Thursday that he is willing to take on anybody.

“I have no fear of Pacquiao,” said Bradley, who has a 27-0 record with 11 knockouts.
