Pacquiao cited as 'amazing young Catholic'

Manny Pacquiao praying before his matchThe world knew Manny Pacquiao as one of the best boxing fighter in the world. But aside from being the king of the ring he is also an amazing young catholic according to a Catholic website based in the United Kingdom. I think one thing that Pacquiao was able to achieve that other boxing champions wasnt able to is he was able to become a good influence not only to other boxing athletes but to every fans out there. Being included in the "10 Amazing Young Catholics" is another feather in Manny Pacquiao's cap. You often see him pray before and after his fight. He is also seen going to church especially after winning his fights and supporting pro life are only some of the reasons why he was included in the list. So before you watch him fight in Pacquiao vs Marquez 3 match read the rest of the news and get to know the other side of Manny Pacquiao and learn why he was included in the list.

MANILA, Philippines – A Roman Catholic website based in the United Kingdom has named Filipino congressman Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao as one of the "10 Amazing Young Catholics."

In an article for the Catholic Herald, Mary O'Regan placed Pacquiao at number 6 in her list of "ten young people from different walks of life who are living out their Catholic faith in extraordinary ways."

The writer notes that Pacquiao frequently acknowledges that his success inside the boxing ring are blessings from God.

"Before each boxing match, he kneels in prayer, asking for the grace that he needs to win the fight. After each bout, he organizes a Mass of thanksgiving, thanking God that neither he nor his opponent have been harmed," O'Regan writes.

She further notes that as a congressman, Pacquiao is fighting against the Reproductive Health Bill.

"He supports the Church hierarchy in its opposition to contraception and has also opposed a bill to legalize divorce," she adds.

"Manny has been pilloried by his more liberal political colleagues, but he maintains that marriage is an institution that should not be violated by lawmakers and that better marriage preparation must be provided instead," O'Regan said.

Other people on the list include Lila Rose, the founder of pro-life campaign Live Action, and Rocco Palmo, a Catholic blogger also known as the Church Whisperer.

ROACH: Mayweather should fight Pacquiao

Freddie Roach Manny Paquiao TrainerI totally agree with Roach when he said that Mayweather should fight Pacquio. Mayweather just should how much he feared Pacquiao by demanding too much. If he just said yes, Pacquiao would be facing him instead of Pacquiao vs Marquez 3 match. Remember Pacquiao is the most sought after boxing fighter today and he brings the money in the table so i guess that it's just fair to give Pacquiao the larger share in the match income. I think the negotiation will still need a lot of talk between the two camps and hopefully we will see the Pacquaio vs Mayweather match soon but for now boxing fans are looking forward to watch Pacquiao vs Marquez 3 live stream.

Four-time trainer of the Year Freddie Roach said in one interview that both he and Manny Pacquiao want to fight Floyd Mayweather, and not just fight, they need the fight “badly”.

“We want that fight badly, we agreed to everything he asked for the last time, and nothing even happened.” Freddie Roach said. The trainer also said that he has high hopes that Mayweather meant his words when the boxer said that he absolutely wanted to fight Pacquiao.

Roach also added that Mayweather will still have to fight Victor Ortiz in September, and that fight will not be an easy on. “He is fighting Victor Ortiz and he’s a southpaw… He has to beat Ortiz first and that’s not going to be an easy task,” Roach said, adding the fact that south paws have traditionally given Mayweather some problems and aberrations.

One more thing, Ortiz will have an edge over Mayweather because the latter has not fought in a year and a half.

“The gym is the gym and the fight’s the fight,” Roach said.
But Roach emphasized that if Mayweather defeats Ortiz he and Pacquiao will be tad waiting.

“Last time, we agreed to everything he asked. On my side and on Manny’s side, we want that fight a hundred percent. We’re gonna fight Marquez in November and anytime after that. And if Mayweather wants to fight the next day, we’ll be ready. “

Roach also emphasized that money won’t be an issue in the rumored upcoming fight. Afterall, money’s no big deal in a world where the baseline for glory is strength of body, mind and spirit, and the endurance to win.

Manny Pacquiao twice whipped Marquez

Juan Manuel “Dinamita” Marquez
(ThyBlackMan.com) WBO/WBA/Ring lightweight champion Juan Manuel “Dinamita” Marquez (54-5-1, 39 KO’s) has been insisting for years now that he was cheated of victory in his previous two contests with WBO welterweight champion Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao (53-3-2, 38 KO’s).

The whole basis for a Trilogy between Marquez and Manny Pacquiao is that “Dinamita” has been clamoring for another fight since their second match in 2008. Marquez claimed after that fight that he was robbed of victory in both the 2004 and 2008 fights.

Let’s take a serious look at both fights to see what really happened.

In the first fight between Marquez and Manny Pacquiao in 2004 when the combatants fought at 126 pounds the contest was called a draw, despite Marquez having been knocked down three times in the first round. It is true that Marquez did turn around the tempo of the fight, but what he declines to tell people is that one of the judges made an error in his scorecard when tabulating the points for each fighter. The judge ruled the first round 10-7 in favor of Pacquiao instead of the 10-6 that it should have been scored because of the three knockdowns. If the scorecards had been tabulated correctly Manny Pacquiao would have been the winner. The judge later admitted his mistake. Despite this Marquez still clings to the notion that he actually won the fight.

In the second fight in 2008 Marquez and Manny Pacquiao fought at 130 pounds. Marquez lost the fight by a split decision. Marquez thought he had done enough to win but a third round knockdown scored by Manny was the deciding factor in his winning the decision. Granted it was a close fight but again there appears to be no basis for the Marquez camp to make the assertion that he was deprived of victory.

When two boxers fight it out down to the wire in a competitive and close fight, the loser almost always feels that he won the fight. That is a normal phenomenon in boxing. “Dinamita” has been beating the drums for such a long time that he was cheated of victory in his two fights with Pacquiao that many people have been swayed into believing him.

Marquez has received much attention through his non stop comments to the press that Pacquiao did not deserve victory in the previous two fights. His campaign finally paid off in that he will be meeting Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao for the third time on November 12 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. For Marquez, who is in the twilight of his career, the Trilogy against Pacquiao will be his most lucrative fight. Even if he does not pull off a victory he will benefit financially in his fight with Manny Pacquiao.

Manny Pacquiao is confident that he will end all the controversy when he steps into the ring to do battle with Juan Manuel Marquez.

Written By BoxingGuru
My Comment: Juan Manuel “Dinamita” Marquez should stop claiming absurd things and should practice more on how he can beat Pacquiao in their next match. Its a clear win for Manny especially the 2nd match. If ever Manny Pacquiao will win in the Pacquiao vs Marquez 3 Match, I hope that Marquez will not claim again that he was cheated again. If he does, he will surely make a fool out of himself.

John Cena Admits Manny Pacquiao Can Beat Him In Boxing Match

John Cena pose with his WWE beltJohn Cena was asked about Manny Pacquiao in WWE SummerSlam event, Why? I do not have any idea why someone will ask him about Manny Pacquiao but John Cena has good words to say about Manny Pacquiao. Maybe someone asked him about Manny pacquiao since there was an ongoing promotion of Pacquiao vs Marquez 3 match.

"I think it would be very quick, and the decision would be obvious," Cena said. "Manny Pacquiao will knock me out in the 1st round." ... "I have a lot of respect (for Pacquiao). He's done so much, not only for the Philippines. His popularity has transcended," Cena said.
Manny Pacquiao picture with his title belts after his match
There are many people who think that wrestling is a legit sport especially the wrestling fans. I dont mean to diss those who believe that but I always think that WWE wrestling (not the wrestling sport) is always fun to watch. I used to watch it when i was still younger and still watch it just to see what's going on. I also remember that Pacquiao was accompanied before by former WWE star Dave Batista to watch a match.

Wrestling and Boxing is two different thing and I think that John Cena was right when he said that Manny Pacquiao can beat him and maybe KO him in the first round. But if they will fight in WWE wrestling match then I think John Cena has the upper hand since Pacquiao has no experience in wrestling. I think it will be fun to watch if the two will box. Who knows maybe they will do a friendly wrestling or boxing match in the future.

Pacquiao vs. Marquez: Manny could be the older fighter on November 12th

By Chris Williams: I honestly don’t know what’s happened to WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao (53-3-2, 38 KO’s). I’ve never seen an athlete slow down as much as I’ve seen Pacquiao slow down in the past two years. He’s gone from jumping around like a young rabbit to fighting like a heavyweight carrying 100 pounds of sand in his trunks.

Pacquiao vs. Marquez PhotoPacquiao, 32, is no longer jumping around and has become a total plodder. Pacquiao is facing Juan Manuel Marquez (53-5-1, 39 KO’s) on November 12th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. Marquez turns 38-years-old on August 23, which makes him another old guy that Pacquiao has faced in the past three years. Pacquiao has fought 36-year-old Oscar De La Hoya, 39-year-old Shane Mosley and now 38-year-old Marquez.
That certainly gives Pacquiao a big advantage when he’s matched up against fighters at or near the ends of their careers. However, I think Pacquiao is going to be the older fighter in the Marquez bout. He’s 32 and soon to be 33, but fighting like a guy that is nearing 40. I don’t know what’s happened to Pacquiao. Maybe it’s the power feeding they’re doing with him by having him eat 7000 calories a day during training camp. Whatever it is they need stop and try to rejuvenate him.

Believe me, Pacquiao was far better before he started putting on weight and going overboard with the calories. But it could be just age rearing it’s ugly head and not the eating and or training. I’ve seen guys that when they turned 32, they looked and fought like a 40-year-old and vice versa.

Look at Tiger Woods. He’s only 35, but he’s totally lost it since two years ago. The reflexes seem to have gone and he’s playing terrible golf. I think we have the same thing with Pacquiao. He’s just not the same fighter he once was, and I think Marquez is going to be the younger fighter November and cause a big upset.

My Take: I do not think that Pacquiao will be the old guy in Pacquiao vs Marquez fight. He has evolved from a young rabbit to a great fighter. Pacquiao has sharpened his skills because once he set his foot in the ring he give his all for the fight. He enter the ring not to jump around like a young rabbit but to box like what real boxers do. Jumping and running around during match, you will see this kind of boxing styles in young boxers but Manny Pacquiao already evolved from that. He think, he observes and he delivers great punches to his enemy. That's why he more capable boxer than Floyd Mayweather who keeps on blabbering like a little girl.

HBO Secured Pacquiao vs Marquez 3

The breaking news on August 5th was that of HBO landing the rights to air the November 12th pay-per-view bout between WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao and nemesis Juan Manuel Marquez. Pacquiao’s last fight against Shane Mosley was carried by CBS-Showtime after seeing HBO televise nearly all of his previous conquests on American soil, dating back to his breakthrough over then-IBF junior featherweight champion Lehlo Ledwaba in June of 2001.
HBO’s loss in failing to grab the rights to Pacquiao-Mosley was looked at as a huge blow at the time, one in which they were sure to make up for with a huge offer to Top Rank CEO Bob Arum. The recent deal included such perks as seeing HBO’s 24/7 series seeing airtime on CNN, Pacquiao and Arum being interviewed on CNN internationally, as well as the fight being promoted during the Major League Baseball Playoffs.

My Comment:
HBO secured Pacquiao vs Marquez 3. It means we will wait for the 24/7 episodes of Pacquiao and Marquez on HBO. For sure it has a lot of drama knowing the story behind these two fighters. They already met twice in the ring and both fights are very close. So excited and I can't wait to see the trilogy. In my humble opinion, I think Pacquiao will win by K.O. or T.K.O.. Watch Pacquiao vs Marquez 3 on Nov. 12, 2011 everyone.
