I totally agree with Roach when he said that Mayweather should fight Pacquio. Mayweather just should how much he feared Pacquiao by demanding too much. If he just said yes, Pacquiao would be facing him instead of Pacquiao vs Marquez 3 match. Remember Pacquiao is the most sought after boxing fighter today and he brings the money in the table so i guess that it's just fair to give Pacquiao the larger share in the match income. I think the negotiation will still need a lot of talk between the two camps and hopefully we will see the Pacquaio vs Mayweather match soon but for now boxing fans are looking forward to watch Pacquiao vs Marquez 3 live stream.
Four-time trainer of the Year Freddie Roach said in one interview that both he and Manny Pacquiao want to fight Floyd Mayweather, and not just fight, they need the fight “badly”.
“We want that fight badly, we agreed to everything he asked for the last time, and nothing even happened.” Freddie Roach said. The trainer also said that he has high hopes that Mayweather meant his words when the boxer said that he absolutely wanted to fight Pacquiao.
Roach also added that Mayweather will still have to fight Victor Ortiz in September, and that fight will not be an easy on. “He is fighting Victor Ortiz and he’s a southpaw… He has to beat Ortiz first and that’s not going to be an easy task,” Roach said, adding the fact that south paws have traditionally given Mayweather some problems and aberrations.
One more thing, Ortiz will have an edge over Mayweather because the latter has not fought in a year and a half.
“The gym is the gym and the fight’s the fight,” Roach said.
But Roach emphasized that if Mayweather defeats Ortiz he and Pacquiao will be tad waiting.
“Last time, we agreed to everything he asked. On my side and on Manny’s side, we want that fight a hundred percent. We’re gonna fight Marquez in November and anytime after that. And if Mayweather wants to fight the next day, we’ll be ready. “
Roach also emphasized that money won’t be an issue in the rumored upcoming fight. Afterall, money’s no big deal in a world where the baseline for glory is strength of body, mind and spirit, and the endurance to win.
